Tyne Green became a designated Country Park in 1982, and its facilities have improved dramatically it now has a boathouse, picnic and BBQ area, children's play area, car parking, and public toilets. The park has picturesque views of the River Tyne, which runs alongside of the park. The Tyne Green is also a popular venue for our raft building, canoeing and kayaking sessions. | ![]() |

The QEII Country Park was once part of the largest colliery spoil heap in Europe. It has been beautifully landscaped to include a lake and woodland walks.
