BECKs Development Training, Development through Adventure Programme offers an alternative education programme for students

  • whose behaviour interrupts the smooth running of lessons
  • who have shown violent, antisocial or abusive behaviour towards other students or staff
  • who fail to attend lessons regularly

Our program can offer these students

  • a prospect of gaining NGB qualifications   away from a “school environment”
  • a way of gaining confidence, self belief & overcoming personal fears and barriers
  • a higher motivation and a more positive and respectful attitude towards the natural and social environment and life in general
  • training in independent living skills, anger control and practical skill development
  • a positive reinforcement of identifying individual future goals, such as career aspirations

    > 1 to 3 star awards in canoeing and kayaking

    > Youth Achievement Awards, level Bronze, Silver and Gold

    > John Muir Award in conservation and environmental studies

    > Adventure Service Challenge scheme, senior level 1 and 2
